Marine Electrical Repairs & Boat Batteries in Auckland

Reliable power. A boat ready for the water.

Battery testing and replacement, charging faults, wiring repairs, bilge pumps and navigation lights. Get practical help with your boat’s electrics at Auckland Marine Service Centre’s Burswood workshop.

Boat battery testing & replacement

Slow cranking or a battery that keeps going flat? We can assess your marine battery’s condition and discuss a suitable replacement if needed. Tell us whether the problem affects starting, onboard equipment or both.

A new battery may not solve an underlying charging or connection fault. We investigate the symptoms and explain the options, helping you decide what needs attention before replacing parts.

Based in Burswood, our workshop welcomes boat owners from across Auckland.

Marine electrical services for your boat

From an isolated wiring fault to equipment that has stopped working, tell us what your boat is doing. Our Auckland workshop can help with these common marine electrical jobs.

Batteries & starting

Battery testing and replacement for boats that are slow to crank or struggle to start. Tell us about the battery’s age, recent use and any repeated flat-battery problems.

Charging faults

A battery that will not hold its charge may need more than a replacement. We can investigate common charging and connection problems and discuss what needs attention.

Wiring & connections

Help with common boat wiring faults, damaged connections and intermittent power loss. Tell us which equipment is affected and when the fault appears.

Isolators & switches

Problems switching power on or off, or a circuit that no longer responds? Ask about battery isolators, switches and common switch-panel faults.

Bilge pumps

A bilge pump that will not run or works intermittently needs attention. We can assess common pump, connection and electrical supply faults and discuss the repair options.

Navigation & cabin lights

Help with boat lights that flicker, fail or lose power. We can investigate common lighting and wiring issues and discuss suitable repairs or replacements.

Planning an electrical installation? Send us the product and boat details first. We offer general installation support and will confirm the scope before booking specialist electronics or complex work.

Marine electrical & battery FAQs

Why does my boat battery keep going flat?

Possible causes include an ageing battery, a charging fault, a poor connection or equipment drawing power while the boat is stored. Tell us when it happens and whether the battery has recently been replaced so we can plan the assessment.

Can you test the battery before replacing it?

Yes. We can test your boat battery and discuss whether replacement or further investigation is the appropriate next step. Bring the existing battery details or a clear photo of its label, if available.

How much will a marine electrical repair cost?

The cost depends on the fault, testing time, access and any parts needed. Ask about the initial assessment charge when you book. We’ll discuss the findings and quote before major work begins.

Can you help with a fault that only happens sometimes?

Tell us when it occurs, which equipment is running and how often it happens. Mention any recent changes and include existing photos of warning messages, if available. This helps us plan the checks even when the fault is intermittent.

Can you install marine electronics?

We offer general installation support for suitable equipment. Send the product and boat details first so we can confirm the scope. Specialist electronics, complex integrations and major refits need to be discussed before booking.

Can I combine electrical work with an outboard service?

Yes, mention both jobs in your request so we can discuss the work and scheduling. See our Mercury and Suzuki outboard servicing page for routine maintenance.
